COVID-19 vaccine helps protect fetuses and newborns

Expectant moms who take the COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy provide protection to their developing babies and newborns up to three to six months. Unvaccinated pregnant people “do not confer any protection to their developing babies, and those infants are at a much higher risk of sickness,” said Alan Fishman, M.D., a maternal-fetal medicine specialist and medical director at Pediatrix® Medical Group of San Jose in California.”
