Neurosurgical Anesthesia or Neurological Anesthesia
Neurosurgical anesthesia, or neuroanesthesia, focuses on patients undergoing brain or spinal cord surgery. This type of surgery is called neurosurgery. There are many similarities between neurosurgical and general anesthesia. Neuroanesthetic management, however, is different because it can have a major effect on the brain and spinal cord through the control of blood flow, blood pressure and energy consumption of these organs.
