Hospital history was made at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center in Georgia when quadruplets were born this summer. In preparation for their arrival, a “quad squad” was organized by the hospital comprising obstetrics, labor and delivery, neonatology, respiratory therapy, NICU and pharmacy teams, among others, to plan for the delivery. The four bundles of joy – three girls (two of which are identical twins) and one boy – were born about 10 weeks early at two pounds each. They are currently being cared for in the NICU by our affiliated neonatology team where they will reside until early fall.
