ERAS-Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS)
- ERAS-Enhanced Recovery After Surgery is a program designed by the anesthesia team and your surgeon to have you recover as quickly as possible from surgery as well as have a timely, uneventful discharge.
- With ERAS, there are no real changes for the patient to prepare for surgery, except to stress that we would like them in optimal physical condition for surgery. I.E.: Weight reduction, exercise, diet.
- Your anesthetic care is now designed to have you awake, alert, ambulating and eating much quicker.
- Your recovery phase will be monitored closely by anesthesia staff, surgical staff, nursing and physical therapy, all to ensure our goal of rapid recovery and discharge.
