Dr. Michael DeRoche is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Maternal-Fetal Medicine as well as OB/GYN. He received his medical degree from Wake Forest University. He completed OB/GYN residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hartford Hospital/University of Connecticut and Fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Connecticut. Prior to medical school, Dr. DeRoche spent 8 years in the investment banking field with Merrill Lynch and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
Dr. DeRoche had spent 15 years in Nashville in private practice in both a group practice and his own practice before joining Mednax. In addition to providing Maternal-Fetal Medicine services, he is proficient in the interpretation of gynecologic ultrasounds. He worked closely with the State of Tennessee to develop the obstetric episode of care payment model. Dr. DeRoche is currently the Medical Director for the Volunteer State Ultrasound program and has been teaching ultrasound students for the past 15 years. He is certified by the Perinatal Quality Foundation for the Nuchal Translucency Quality Review program (NTQR). He is proficient in fetal echocardiography and invasive procedures, including fetal umbilical blood sampling. Dr. DeRoche’s clinical interests include evaluation of fetal growth restriction, fetal echocardiography, gynecologic ultrasound, and ultrasound quality assessment and review.
