Dr. Patrick Lewallen completed his fellowship training in neonatology at St. Paul Children's Hospital and the University of Minnesota, St. Paul-Minneapolis, Minnesota, and joined the group in November 1985 as one of five founding members of Northwest Newborn Specialists, P.C. Dr. Lewallen is board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Lewallen is the medical director for the Randall Children's Hospital NICU at Legacy Emanuel in Portland, Oregon. Quality improvement is a major focus in his role as medical director at the Randall Children's Hospital in collaboration with the NICU team. His clinical interests include neonatal respiratory disease, brain care for sick newborns and further enhancement of family centered care.
