Obstetrix Medical Group of Colorado (OBX) is comprised of multiple caregivers who collaborate to “take great care” of both you and your baby.
Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine Specialists (Perinatologists)
We have ten Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists, also called high-risk pregnancy specialists or perinatologists, who will direct and supervise the management of your complicated pregnancy. These physicians are supported in the office setting by a group of specially trained nurse practitioners, who will provide prenatal care to you at your regularly scheduled office visits. These practitioners are directly supervised by one of the MFM specialists.
In addition to our MFM specialists, our team also includes a group of dedicated perinatal nurse practitioners (PNNPs) and board certified obstetricians assigned to the Labor & Delivery unit at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center (PSL) and Swedish Medical Center. These care givers are present on the Labor & Delivery unit 24 hours/day. Both the PNNPs and the obstetricians, who we refer to as OB hospitalists, are skilled at in-patient pregnancy problem assessment and management. They will also provide labor management and supervision. Finally, the presence of these providers, both PNNPs and OB hospitalists, on a 24/7 basis allows our practice to provide the high quality, safe care to our patients in any situation.
