Dr. Cedars is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and in maternal-fetal medicine by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a member of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Dr. Cedars is a graduate of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Washington Hospitals in Seattle, Washington, and then returned to Dallas to complete a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Parkland Hospital and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. He entered the private practice of obstetrics and gynecology in Denver in 1978, practicing there until 1993, when he entered fellowship training in maternal-fetal medicine at the Harbor-UCLA/Cedars-Sinai fellowship program in Los Angeles. Upon completing fellowship, he joined Rocky Mountain Perinatal Associates in Denver. He left this practice after one year and was recruited to start a maternal-fetal medicine program in San Luis Obispo on the central coast of California. This practice was successful, growing to three full-time MFM physicians and providing prenatal diagnostic services, MFM consultative services, and high-risk maternal-fetal transport services for a catchment area of 6,000 annual deliveries in three counties. Dr. Cedars left California in 2012 to join our affiliated practice, Phoenix Perinatal Associates in Phoenix, Arizona, a very active clinical practice that provides tertiary inpatient care in maternal fetal medicine for patients from the entire state of Arizona. He provides inpatient care and outpatient prenatal diagnostic and consultative services and serves on the governance board of the practice.
Dr. Cedars joined our team of physicians in Spring 2017. He moved to Dallas with his family to be close to his children and grandchildren.
