COVID-19 Guest policy and screening process
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the health of our patients and employees, Obstetrix Medical Group of Houston no longer allows guests to accompany patients into our practices for their appointments. In addition, our practices have implemented a new screening process to minimize risk to patients and employees. We ask that all patients arrive early for their appointments to accommodate this screening process.
Thank you for your understanding, as the safety of our patients and employees is our utmost priority. Together we can stop the spread of coronavirus. Learn how to protect yourself and others at the CDC COVID-19 resource webpage.

During the COVID-19 crisis, our patients and their families remain our priority. To ensure access to care while minimizing potential COVID-19 exposure, we’re working closely with internal experts, hospital partners, and health care authorities at the national, state, and county levels to implement and adapt care protocols in real-time.
Despite this global pandemic, we are focused on the future; we’re working collaboratively across the continuum of care to understand better ─ and reduce ─ the impact of COVID-19 on the patients we serve.

When you call to schedule an appointment, we understand and respect your sense of urgency. Our appointment scheduler will make every effort to accommodate you at the earliest time possible. For your first appointment, we ask that you plan to arrive 30 minutes early to complete all of the necessary paperwork.

If a child under the age of 10 will be accompanying you, please bring another adult to provide supervision during your examination.
We understand that a diagnostic ultrasound can be stressful for an expectant mother who is concerned for her developing baby. With our comprehensive and extensive approach, we are able to achieve a high degree of diagnostic accuracy and are pleased to announce our accreditation by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine (AIUM).
This places us amongst a limited number of groups with the highest standards for imaging. We are accredited for all trimesters in OB and are one of only four in the state to be accredited for fetal echocardiography (heart imaging).
With a 50-year history, the AIUM is dedicated to the advancement of safe and effective use of ultrasound in medicine. The voluntary accreditation we received recognizes our competency in all aspects of our ultrasound program, including:
- Personnel education, training and experience
- Document storage and record keeping
- Policies and procedures safeguarding patients and ultrasound personnel and equipment
- Quality assurance
- Case studies
