Practice Announcement

Effective Oct. 1, 2020,  Obstetrix Medical Group of Nebraska, located at CHI Health Lakeside Hospital, 16901 Lakeside Hills Ct, Omaha, NE 68130, and Creighton University Medical Center–Bergan Mercy, 7710 Mercy Road, Suite 117, Omaha, NE 68124, is changing ownership. Going forward, the practice will be owned and operated by CHI Health Clinic, an affiliate of CHI Health. Following the change of ownership to CHI Health Clinic, the practice will largely operate as it does today.

You can continue to receive care from Dr. Michael Barsoom and Dr. Maggie Kulhmann at the existing practice location. Starting Oct. 1, you will begin receiving bills for services provided at the practice from CHI Health Clinic instead of Obstetrix.

We value you as a patient and assure you that this transition has been thoughtfully coordinated to make it as seamless as possible. You will not need to re-establish yourself as a patient of CHI Health Clinic or MFM providers, and all medical records will be transitioned to CHI Health Clinic. Additionally, the phone and fax numbers for the practice will remain the same.

If you have any questions, please call us at 402-398-6103. CHI Health Clinic will be the custodian of your medical records going forward.

We look forward to continuing to provide your maternal fetal health care.

Obstetrix Medical Group of Nebraska physicians have been providing maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) services to the Omaha and Lincoln areas for almost 30 years. In 2017, we became affiliated with the MFM division of a national medical group, MEDNAX, which has allowed us to expand the services that we offer to the community.

MFM is an OB/GYN subspecialty that provides advance knowledge of the medical, surgical, obstetrical, fetal and genetic complications of pregnancy and their effects on both the mother and fetus. Our care team at Obstetrix Medical Group of Nebraska is committed to supporting you with diagnostic testing and consultation during a high-risk pregnancy. In collaboration with your referring OB/GYN provider, our MFM specialists will co-manage your care alongside other specialists including cardiologists, pulmonologists and endocrinologists, when needed.

A referral to a maternal-fetal medicine specialist should not be cause for alarm. It is often a precautionary measure taken to protect both mother and baby, and help ensure the appropriate course of treatment is taken throughout your pregnancy.
