Dr. Porisch, board certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology, joined Pediatric Cardiology Associates in 2008 and serves as the practice Medical Director. She provides care for infants and children with congenital and acquired heart disease, in addition to adults with congenital heart disease. Her particular areas of expertise are interventional catheterization, inpatient cardiology and post-operative management.

Originally from Loomis, California, Dr. Porisch, graduated from Idaho State University with a bachelor's degree in nursing in 1982. After graduation, she joined the U.S. Army and attended the Postgraduate Intensive Care Nursing School and subsequently worked as an intensive care nurse for six years. She received her medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in 1992. She graduated with honors and was inducted into the medical honor society, Alpha Omega Alpha. After completing her pediatric residency at Tripler Amy Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, she served as the chief of pediatrics at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. She completed her pediatric cardiology fellowship with an emphasis in interventional cardiology at Vanderbilt University in 2000.

She was then stationed at Wilford Hall Medical Center, where she served as the chief of pediatric cardiology for seven years, before retiring from the military in 2008. From 2000 to 2008, she held a faculty position appointment with the University of Texas Heath Science Center San Antonio and served as the pediatric interventional cardiologist for University Hospital and Santa Rosa Children’s Hospital.

Dr. Porisch is actively involved with international humanitarian missions. She is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a member of the Christian Medical and Dental Society.
