Dr. Monroe is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, UT. It was the first PICU in Utah County and only the second in the state of Utah. He completed his residency in Pediatrics at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and subsequently completed a three year fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine there as well. He also holds an MBA degree with emphasis in Health Sector Management from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. Dr. Monroe is also the Medical Director for MountainStar Children’s Services and helps direct pediatric critical care transport for Classic Air Medical. He has a passion for teaching and hold faculty positions at several medical schools. His interests include comprehensive health management, acute care pediatrics, and pediatric sedation outside of the operating room. When he is not caring for patients at the hospital, he enjoys spending time with his wife Melissa and their three children (2 boys and a girl) enjoying all that life has to offer.
