Dr. Horowitz has known since she was a child that she wanted to be a physician. She grew up in Northern Michigan in a small town called Traverse City. Here, her father was one of the local doctors. Dr. Horowitz often accompanied her father on patient rounds during weekends. She graduated from college in 1996 from the University of Michigan and remains an avid Wolverines fan. She ventured to Ohio for medical school and graduated from Case Western Reserve University Medical School in 2000. Here, Dr. Horowitz was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society as one of the top students in her class. She was also featured in U.S. News and World Report for her participation in an innovative new program through her school. She completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2004. Afterwards, Dr. Horowitz was in private practice for eight years in Wisconsin prior to moving to Arizona in 2012. In Scottsdale, Dr. Horowitz continued in private practice for several years before becoming an OB hospitalist. She has enjoyed the balanced lifestyle this position has given her.
When she is not working, Dr. Horowitz enjoys spending time with her husband and two boys. She is actively involved in volunteering at her children's school. She also enjoys cooking, reading and exercise. You can often find her swimming laps at the local pool or hiking on the nearby trails.
