Dr. Wright completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency and maternal-fetal medicine (MFM) fellowship at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She came to the Cape Fear region and began practicing in Wilmington at the South East Area Health Education Center and started Wilmington Maternal-Fetal Medicine in 2007. Dr. Wright's passion for providing full MFM services lead her to recruit certified genetic counselors, specially trained and certified ultrasound technicians, and high-risk nurses to the practice.

Dr. Wright is a member of American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Society of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the North Carolina Medical Society. Dr. Wright has expertise in all aspects of high-risk obstetrics, including: preconception counseling, prenatal diagnosis, thrombophilia in pregnancy, cardiac disease in pregnancy, preterm cervical changes, cerclage, fetal growth delay, twins and higher order multiples, and intensive inpatient management.
